Judge Overrules FMCSA Shutdown Order of Illinois Trucking Company

Just over two weeks after the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ordered an Illinois-based trucking company to shut down all interstate movements, a federal judge on Wednesday ruled it can return to the roadway.

Road Work Continues, Load Width Reduced on I-24 Ohio River Bridge

Illinois Top Speed Limit to Increase to 70

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn on Monday signed legislation increasing the speed limit from 65 to 70 mph on rural four-lane highways and to lower the limit by five mph for excessive speeding, effective January 1, 2014.

States Setting Higher Speed Limits

Five state legislatures voted this year to raise speed limits on some divided highways in their states. They’re following the lead of Texas, which last year bumped the speed limit on one stretch to 85 mph, the highest in the nation.

FMCSA Takes Action Against Three Chicago-Area Moving Companies

Three Chicago-area household goods moving companies have had their interstate operating authority revoked or suspended due to serious violations of safety and commercial regulations. In addition, all three companies were assessed civil penalties, announced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
