An operations manager for California household good mover has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for participating in a “low ball estimate” scheme, as part of a more than 10-year federal investigation.

FMCSA’s Moving Fraud Task Force Shuts Down Five Companies

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Moving Fraud Task Force has shut down five household goods moving companies in Florida, South Carolina and Maryland for holding customer shipments hostage and failing to turn over records related to their investigations.

FMCSA Takes Action Against Three Chicago-Area Moving Companies

Three Chicago-area household goods moving companies have had their interstate operating authority revoked or suspended due to serious violations of safety and commercial regulations. In addition, all three companies were assessed civil penalties, announced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
