FMCSA Will Help Train Police on Truck Traffic Enforcement

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will soon launch a national program to train police officers in traffic enforcement for large trucks. The agency worked with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance on a curriculum covering the basics of truck safety enforcement.

CVSA Joins Push to Hide CSA Data from Public

The truck safety enforcement community has joined the industry effort to get the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to hide CSA safety data from public view. In a November 14 letter to Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance said that Safety Measurement System scores should be available to police but not to the public.

CVSA Names Grand Champion for North American Inspectors Championship

Derek Canard, of the Arkansas Hihgway Police, was awarded the Jimmy K. Ammons Grand Champion Award at NAIC 2013.

A group of 52 of the best of the best roadside inspectors representing jurisdictions across North America gathered in Salt Lake City, August 19-23, 2013, to compete in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s North American Inspectors Championship.
