Garmin International released two new navigators in two different sizes designed to assist truckers on the road with truck specific features. The 5-inch dezl 570 and 7-inch dezl 770 feature route shaping, points of interest and simple truck profiles.

The dezl 570 and 770 allow for the creation of truck profiles which allows drivers to enter trailer dimensions like size and weight. This information allows the navigation units to create customized routes that are suitable for the truck. They also feature route shaping which allows truckers to change their routes to include preferred roads or cities.

Garmin’s navigation units guide drivers in a natural way using Real Directions. Real Directions uses recognizable landmarks, buildings, traffic lights and stop signs to give directions. Additional navigation features include voice activation, Active Lane Guidance with voice prompts, and the photoReal and bird’s eye junction view.

Drivers can also use the devices to track their truck’s service history including oil changes and tire mileage as well as HOS and International Fuel Tax Agreement documentation.

The Gamin navigation units also feature trucking points of interest to allow drivers to find truck-friendly pit stops that have been rated by other truckers with TruckDown. The units also include information from services like Foursquare to indicate restaurants and lodging.

Both devices have glass displays and come in rugged housing. They feature built in speakers so that that truckers can also hear directions and other driving information spoken to them in addition to displaying visually.

The units can be paired with a smartphone for additional cell phone related functionality and the dezl 770 can be connected to a headset to make and receive calls. The Garmin Smartphone Link app can receive up-to-date information on parking, photos from traffic cameras, the weather and more. The devices are preloaded with HERE maps and aren’t affected by dead cellular zones.

Also included are free lifetime map updates and traffic avoidance without any ads or subscriptions and the dezl 770 comes with HD Digital Traffic which is the best traffic avoidance solution available from Garmin.

The units are also compatible with the Garmin BC 30 Wireless Backup Camera, to help drivers spot vehicles, pedestrians and obstructions when in reverse. The navigator will display the live camera feed every time the vehicle is in reverse and will switch back to navigation mode when put in a forward gear.

The dezl 570 has a suggested retail price of $299.99 and the dezl 770 has a suggested retail price of $399.99. The optional BC 30 backup camera has a suggested retail price of $169.99.
