Video-based driver safety and compliance system provider Lytx, formerly known as DriveCam, has rolled out DC Protect, a program designed to meet the unique needs of fleets with fewer than 350 vehicles.

Building upon the insights gained from delivering the company’s flagship DriveCam program, the company said the DC Protect Program is a solution with self-service tools that help smaller fleets improve safety and protect drivers.

Using the company’s proprietary Lytx Safety Score, DC Protect helps identify and manage the drivers who would benefit most from coaching and performance improvement, according to the company.

“DC Protect is a market-driven solution that is tailor-made for smaller, often lean organizations that still need and want to actively protect their fleets. DC Protect enables fleets to increase safety and significantly reduce collision costs, two powerful competitive advantages,” said Adam McCarty, general manager, mid-markets at Lytx.

According to Lytx, DC Protect uses video to enable fleet managers to protect 100% of their fleet, exonerate drivers from false claims, improve driver safety, and significantly reduce collision costs. The in-vehicle video event recorder captures events and analyzes behavior while providing real-time feedback to help keep drivers safe.

Lytx Safety Score assesses the probability of being in a collision based on data from more than 25 billion miles driven and collected over more than 15 years. By understanding how behavioral patterns are indicative of risky driving behavior, DC Protect prioritizes drivers based on their risk assessment, according to the company.
