Mack Trucks has introduced the mRIDE spring suspension for its TerraPro refuse model truck during Waste Expo 2013 in New Orleans.

The mRIDE spring suspension, now available with proprietary MACK axles, it says, delivers increased stability and a smoother ride. It is a six-rod spring suspension with Mack ductile iron axle housings and Mack C150/151 series axle carriers.

“The extremely stable Mack mRIDE has real benefits for the refuse market, such as a high driveline position and excellent traction,” said Curtis Dorwart, Mack vocational marketing product manager. “The mRIDE is also virtually maintenance free.”

The company says the mRIDE’s spring leaf design and V-shaped torque rods ensure stability by efficiently transmitting forces into the truck’s frame. Shock absorbers in combination with rubber and steel shock towers also improve ride and handling. Lighter than camelback spring suspensions, the Mack mRIDE allows refuse customers to haul heavier loads with more even weight distribution. The suspension’s articulation and constant ground contact for all wheels maximizes traction and makes navigating in and out of landfills or other rugged sites easier.

The mRIDE is also available on the Granite, Titan and the Pinnacle axle forward models.
