The Cooper Tire and Rubber Company has been designing and making tires for over 70 years. The company, which has had its RoadMaster line of truck tires on the market for the past decade, is now launching its own line of Cooper truck and bus radial tires.
Gary Schroeder, director of Cooper’s global truck and bus tire business, explained during a press conference at the Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting in Atlanta that the Cooper TBR (truck and bus radial) lineup of tires have been engineered to deliver quality and value.

“Fleets are continually faced with the pressure of lowering their operating costs, and tires are an area that can have a big impact on meeting those targets,” he noted. “Our North American team of engineers developed the Cooper brand truck tires with a focus on lowering the total cost of ownership for fleets.”
Cooper Truck Tires will be offered in three application-based series: The Pro Series for long-haul fleets, the Work Series tires for regional-haul and P&D applications, and the Severe Series for demanding mixed-service fleets.
According to Schroeder, all commercial Pro Series tires feature proprietary compounds and tread designs that provide a balance of fuel efficiency and long miles to removal. Work Series tires are designed to deliver fuel efficiency combined with scrub-resistant properties. And the Severe Series tires are built to withstand heavy scrub and cut/chip environments. All the Cooper TBR tires have a full-width, four-steel bet package to allow multiple retreads.
