Peterbilt's new SmartLinq remote diagnostics technology is in production, a factory-installed system on all trucks equipped with Paccar MX-13 engines.

SmartLinq is a fully-integrated remote diagnostics system that provides customers with real-time information on fleet health. All trucks equipped with SmartLinq include a complimentary two-year subscription to the service and are fully supported by Peterbilt dealers.

“Our extensive pilot testing of this time- and money-saving technology proves SmartLinq provides customers with greater uptime and a new level of vehicle supervision and management,” said Robert Woodall, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing.  “In addition, we are enhancing customer convenience with an exclusive new smartphone and tablet SmartLINQ app for both Android and iOS platforms.”

The SmartLinq app is a free download for iOS devices through the Apple App Store and will be available for Android devices later in the month through the Google Play store.

The app is exclusive to Peterbilt and gives fleet managers and truck owners full access to the SmartLinq portal. It provides access to fleet health and the tools to schedule maintenance throughout Peterbilt’s North American Dealer network.

With SmartLinq, customers can choose to have the system communicate with Peterbilt dealerships when a vehicle needs immediate attention. The dealership can be notified of a vehicles arrival and have a service bay, technician and parts ready.

“SmartLinq strengthens the connection between our customers and dealers,” said Woodall. “Remote diagnostics technology provides customers with maximum uptime.”
