LAS VEGAS - ATDynamics announced the latest TrailerTail technology to be verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Advanced Trailer End Fairing, the TrailerTail Trident.
The TrailerTail Trident is an adaptation of the standard TrailerTail, specifically designed for lower-mileage drop and hook operations. It's slightly shorter and is three-sided (no bottom panels), rather than the full four sides the regular TrailerTail provides.
It will provide stand-alone compliance with California Air Resources Board requirements for trailer aerodynamics.
The TrailerTail Trident is compatible with all swing door dry van and refrigerated trailers. It delivers 4-5% fuel savings at highway speed (based on SAE J1321 testing), and opens and closes automatically with zero driver interaction. It is available on new trailers or as retrofit.
