Peterbilt Motors Company says the Paccar MX engine is now available on Model 389 trucks.

The MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380hp-485hp and torque outputs up to 1,750 lb-ft with a displacement of 12.9 liters. Using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in combination with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), the MX engine meets 2010 EPA diesel engine emissions regulations. The fully integrated systems with modular components reduce design complexity resulting in longer service intervals, increased uptime, lower operating costs and higher resale value, Peterbilt says.

"High industry acceptance and customer demand has allowed Peterbilt to expand the availability of the PACCAR MX engine into the Model 389," says Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. "We are pleased to pair the MX engine with the Model 389 offering customers a superior fuel economy option that provides longer service intervals, increased uptime, lower operating costs and higher resale value."

Peterbilt and all Paccar dealerships have certified, trained technicians and a complete inventory of service parts in stock. More than 670 authorized service locations across North America are certified in the latest technologies and diagnostic tools to service and support the Paccar Engine family. Paccar operates eight parts distribution centers across North America and provides engine technical support 24/7 - 365 days a year through its dedicated Customer Call Center.
