Arsenault Associates, Burlington, N.J., released Dossier Version 4.6, the latest edition of the company's maintenance management software.

The new version of Dossier includes hundreds of software upgrades and enhancements as well as three new modules. The Dossier Tire Management System is a comprehensive, money-saving program option for managing tire assets. For most commercial fleets, tires constitute the third largest cost factor after labor and fuel.

No keyboard data entry is necessary after initial setup. The tire module gathers readings via the Dossier Tire Probe, an automated technology that quickly and easily measures tire air pressure and tread depth. The information is sent via Bluetooth wireless to Pocket Dossier (on a handheld PDA), which then updates the Dossier fleet maintenance software via high-speed wireless in real time.

The Tire Management System helps fleets increase fuel mpg and lower their tire costs and downtime by maintaining proper air pressures and minimum tread depths. This also ensures timely recaps and clearly identifies problem tires, as well as which tire brands and models are best suited to a particular fleet.

Dossier Onboard and External Work are optional modules on the new software.

Dossier Onboard is an integrated GPS and telematics solution that delivers vehicle data, fault codes and driver performance reports to the fleet manager wirelessly in real time as the vehicle is on the road. Maintenance data such as fault codes and current mile and hour meter readings are automatically imported into Dossier, which can then flag evolving problems before they become critical, and automatically update PM schedules. Dossier Onboard offers tools to manage fuel use.

The External Work Management module enables oversight and control of service and repairs performed by outside vendors and allows for importing repair orders and invoice documents, eliminating data entry and the potential for errors.

Dossier 4.6 has also been enhanced to function smoothly with other business software, providing throughput to accounting programs. VMRS, the Vehicle Maintenance Reporting System, has been updated with 6,000 new codes and four new systems.
