The American Trucking Associations is seeking nominations for the second annual Mike Russell "Good stuff" Trucking Image Award.
The award honors those that creatively implement the "Good stuff. Trucks Bring It." campaign in order to generate positive awareness of the trucking industry.
"Trucking delivers nearly everything America uses daily, and we're proud of our role," said ATA president and CEO Bill Graves. "This award honors those who have gone above and beyond to educate the American public on the essentiality of trucking -- and make 'Good stuff. Trucks Bring It.' more than just a slogan."
Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, execution and reach/impact. All submissions must be submitted to the image campaign by Sept. 19, 2008. Winners will be announced during ATA's annual Management Conference & Exhibition Oct. 4-7 in New Orleans, La.
"The Mike Russell 'Good stuff' Trucking Image Award is a chance for the industry to recognize those who are actively making a difference for trucking," said ATA's Communication and Image Policy Committee Chair Mike Kelley. "From CEOs and drivers to customers, state trucking associations and suppliers, we want to recognize anyone who is creatively promoting and improving the image of the trucking industry."
The award is named in honor of the late Mike Russell, a trucking industry supporter and media official who helped develop the "Good stuff. Trucks Bring It." campaign as vice president of Public Affairs for the American Trucking Associations. Russell's efforts to improve the image of the trucking industry through the "Good stuff" campaign were the inspiration for this award.
