Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks are offering pre-paid preventative maintenance plans as an option for fleets looking to reduce operating costs.

The Volvo and Mack Premium Maintenance Plans are prepaid contracts that offer levels of coverage and lock in current parts and labor rates. The maintenance plans cover model-year 2011 and newer trucks powered by Volvo D11, D13 or D16 engines and Mack MP7, MP8 and MP10 engines and align them with current service intervals.

Earlier this year the company announced new recommended maintenance intervals that added 10,000 miles to the previous oil change interval for model year 2011 and newer trucks with Volvo engines.

In addition to choosing from three specified plans ranging from basic oil changes and 74-point inspections to more in-depth maintenance, Volvo and Mack customers can create custom plans to fit their specific needs. The plans also offer the option to include service of the aftertreatment system, transmission and chassis.

Volvo and Mack Premium Maintenance Plan customers can schedule maintenance at any Volvo and Mack dealership in the U.S. and Canada through the Volvo Action Service 24/7 support staff. Volvo and Mack Premium Maintenance Plans can be purchased through dealers.

“By proactively focusing on service, we help keep the customer on the road by routinely placing the care of their truck in the hands of highly trained Volvo technicians,” said Magnus Gustafson, director of service contracts and workshop solutions.
