Dieselcraft’s Technol 246 is a fuel additive that penetrates and dissolves diesel sludge buildups to solve filter plugging problems in diesel fuel tanks.

Tank contamination known as diesel sludge is an algae-like substance in which cells adhere to each other on the tank surface or at the fuel water interface. The sludge settles to the bottom of a fuel tank and can clog filters when the vehicle is fueled.

These biological formations are surrounded by a shield of extra cellular polymeric substance which protects the bacteria from biocides and most other additives. Technol 246 breaks up the sludge into smaller particles which can pass through filters and nozzles without plugging or doing damage.

The cleaned up fuel will have lower NOx, carbon monoxide and particulate emissions, according to Dieselcraft. Black smoke from poor combustion is eliminated, further biological growth is prevented and fuel economy can increase.

Dieselcraft says the typical treatment cost is about 2 cents per gallon of fuel.

Technol 246 is available in 8 ounce bottles, 1 gallon, 5 gallon and 55 gallon containers. The 1 gallon container includes a self-contained tip and measure bottle. Dieselcraft says that 8 ounces of Technol 246 will treat up to 275 gallons of fuel and 1 gallon of additive will treat up to 4,000 gallons of fuel.
