A new trailer side skirt from Fleet Engineers of Muskegon, Mich., has been designed to save time, save money and, the company says wryly, to save the planet.

Fleet Engineers' AeroSaver trailer side skirt is made from recycled materials, and can be installed by a single technician in less time than two workers can install a competitive brand of skirt, the company says. Fleet Engineers say the skirt reduce fuel consumption by as much as 7%.

The skirt is also designed to save inventory by letting fleets decide to install the skirt angled or straight with no additional hardware, and saving space by shipping and storing in three equal length sections.

The AeroSaver trailer side skirt also has an engineered bracket system to allow for easy, one-person installation. Each panel is UV impregnated to resist fading and cracking, is made out of extruded flexible plastic designed to bend over obstacles, and can be replaced independently if damage does occur.

This product meets the California Air Resources Board standalone trailer aerodynamic requirements for the GHG/Smartway rule. AeroSaver is available in either white or grey. The AeroSaver is currently in production and is available for ordering.
