RealWheels' Twist & Lock Aero Covers with Windows are now available as an option on Peterbilt’s Model 579 tractors.
The Twist & Lock Aero Covers maintain clear windows to view the wheel and wheel-end components while improving vehicle aerodynamics and increasing fuel efficiency. The design also allows for faster installation and removal without the use of tools. The Aero Covers are offered in a standard mirror-finished stainless steel for enhanced exterior appearance.
RealWheels' designs are engineered to reduce drag by closing off the deep well cavity of the wheel. SmartWay J1321 testing has shown a fuel cost savings of 1% to 2%, according to RealWheels.
The Twist & Lock mounting system features a large diameter, spring-loaded top plate that provides quick and secure cover mounting. The bracket was designed to work on all trucks and trailers with 22.5- or 24.5-inch dual or wide base wheels.
