Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. (CTDi) has agreed to supply Hino Motors, Ltd. with its DuraFit diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs) for Hino’s North American dealerships, according to a release.
"The agreement with Hino reflects continued commercial momentum in a key growth market for CDTi," said Eric Bippus, CDTi's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
The DPFs and DOCs are expected to ship this quarter to Hino’s 300 dealerships.
North American OEMs have produced an average of 250,000 heavy duty on-road diesel vehicles equipped with DPFs and DOCs every year since 2007 to comply with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements, according to Power System Research, a market analysis firm. Many of the five-year OEM warranties for the DOPS and DOCs has expired for the vehicles, and are now owned by second or third owners.
