Derive Systems' engine calibration software now works with the 2015 Ford Transit's 3.7-liter or and 3.5-liter engines, the company has announced. The software reduces fuel consumption by commercial fleets that use the full-size Transit van.

The software offered for the Ford Transit includes a top-speed limiter to increase safe driving, eliminate speeding tickets, and lower insurance costs. Derive’s software also aims to reduce idle rpm by up to 30 percent to save on fuel and significantly improve fuel economy, according to the company.

Derive Systems customizes the software of the Transit's engine to save fuel, eliminate speeding and reduce emissions. The company offers engine software solutions for Ford, Lincoln, General Motors, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Caterpillar, Paccar, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel.
