North America Exceeds 1,000 Locations Offering DEF at the Pump
The North American retail diesel exhaust fluid network reached a landmark figure last month with over 1,000 locations offering diesel exhaust fluid at the fuel island. Currently, there are 1,025 such locations, an increase of 553 since April 2012.
TravelCenters of America is one of the truckstop chains where DEF is available at many pumps.
The North American retail diesel exhaust fluid network reached a landmark figure last month with over 1,000 locations offering diesel exhaust fluid at the fuel island. Currently, there are 1,025 such locations, an increase of 553 since April 2012.
DiscoverDEF.com says the network is made up of locations operated by major truckstop chain operators, as well as smaller brands and independent locations. More than 130 locations have installed pump facilities since January.
Pilot Flying J accounts for over a third of the pump network in North America, with 435 locations equipped with bulk DEF. Love's Travel Stops and TA TravelCenters have 235 and 223 locations, respectively. WilcoHess is now the fourth largest chain, with over 20 locations offering DEF at the fuel island.
Texas has more locations supplying DEF at the pump than any other, with 111 equipped sites. The second largest state is Indiana, with 60 locations.
Several states have yet to install their first DEF pumps, including Alaska and Vermont. In general, DEF pumps are more commonly found in the southeastern states.
