The California Air Resources Board will hold a free daylong seminar in Fresno on March 26 to help truck owners meet new rules for diesel trucks and learn about available government grants and funding.

Participants can learn about which regulations apply to their fleet, requirements for their equipment and funding opportunities available to them, says CARB.

"The goal is to offer one-on-one help with truckers and truck owners about our diesel regulations, funding and the latest in clean diesel technology," says CARB Executive Officer James Goldstene.

There will also be mock truck inspections at the events so that truck drivers can see what inspectors will be looking for. In addition, classroom training will cover regulations ranging from idling to tractor and trailer greenhouse gas regulation.

The Fresno event is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at Fresno Council Chambers, second floor of city hall, 2600 Fresno St.

The Fresno event is one of three planned in the state in March. The others are scheduled for March 5 in Riverside, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Extension Center, 1200 University Ave., and in San Mateo on March 19, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the San Mateo County Events Center, 2495 S. Delaware St.
