The publication reported that Thomas Buske and Tom Russell were among the carrier owners that were sued by SC Johnson. The former SCJ Transportation executives that are said to be involved include Milton Morris, former director, and Katherine Scheller, former deputy director. The company claims the two accepted bribes in exchange for turning in inflated invoices to SCJ for the companies, The Journal Times reports.
However, Wednesday, the Court of Appeals upheld the former decision that the parties involved in the scheme pay out.
The case may not be over yet, as Russell's attorney, Frank Gimbel, intends to take the case to the Supreme Court.
"We're very disappointed about what the Court of Appeals said in the case," he told The Journal Times. "Many of the issues that they cavalierly dismissed are significant."
