OMB Will Hold Hours Rules Until End of Month
February 07, 2000
The proposed revisions to the truck driver hours of service regulations will be held at the White House Office of Management and Budget at least until the end of this month.
That’s the word from Julie Cirillo, acting assistant administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. She said OMB had requested more time for its review, and may come back with suggested changes.
The changes probably will not be significant but may require some analysis, Cirillo said during a briefing on the DOT budget. The message: It will be at least next month before the industry gets a glimpse at the long-awaited revision, and gets a chance to comment.
