Texas Solar Fleet Adds Plug-In Hybrid F-150s

CPS Energy has announced the purchase of 34 XLP Plug-In Hybrid Electric Ford F-150 pickup trucks, the largest purchase of plug-in F-150s by any utility or private company to date, according to CPS.

PG&E Unveils Plug-In Electric Truck

Pacific Gas & Electric Company has unveiled its first plug-in hybrid-electric Class 6 truck. The vehicle, developed by Efficient Drivetrains Incorporated, combines up to 50 miles of all-electric driving with 300 miles of driving range in hybrid mode.

Utilities Urged to Double EV Investment

Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and a few private utilities are urging other electric utilities to more than double their current investments in electric fleet vehicles. Both groups have taken steps to support utilities working to achieve this goal.

DOE Eases Alt-Fuel Vehicle Purchasing Mandate

The U.S. Department of Energy has made it easier for state and utility fleets to comply with alt-fuel vehicle purchasing mandates by giving them credit for hybrid vehicles, alt-fuel fueling infrastructure, alt-fuel non-road equipment, and emerging technologies.
