Real-World Electric Highway Tests Start in Sweden

The 2-kilometer stretch of road features a dedicated hybrid truck lane with a Siemens conductive system with overhead electrical wires, very much like the systems commonly used on mass-transit street cars, buses and trains today.

Odyne's Hybrid System Receives CARB Exemption

Aftermarket hybrid system manufacturer, Odyne Systems, has received an exemption from the California Air Resources Board permitting the installation of the company’s hybrid systems on certain medium- and heavy-duty diesel powered vehicles.

Eaton Discontinues Diesel-Electric Hybrid Trucks

Utilities were a popular application for the Eaton diesel-electric hybrid.

Eaton has confirmed that it's out of the diesel-electric hybrid business in North America, after government incentives and stabilizing diesel prices contributed to a market largely drying up.

Fleet Gets 14 MPG Hybrid Hino Truck

Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air has added this diesel-electric hybrid Hino to its truck fleet.

To reduce its carbon footprint and fuel expenses, this plumbing, heating and air company has started to integrate the hybrid Hino cab-over into its service truck fleet.

M2 106 Hybrid Approved for New York State’s Voucher Program, Daimler Says

The diesel-electric truck becomes eligible for a program that can pay up to half the incremental cost of acquisition. The program, called NYT-VIP, provides $19 million in incentives for clean vehicle technologies, and is backed by several New York agencies
