Oregon Seeks EPA Funding For Truck Replacement Program

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is looking for local fleets and owner-operators to participate in a possible truck replacement program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The program will pay for up to half the cost of a new truck, provided the old one is scrapped.

Shorepower Enhances Truck Electrification Project

Portland, Ore.-based Shorepower Technologies has taken full control of the U. S. Department of Energy funding grant and now plans to expand its network of truck stop pedestals.

ATA, Diesel Forum Slam Obama Budget Proposal

President Obama’s proposed budget for the 2014 fiscal year that starts Oct. 1 drew harsh criticism from the American Trucking Associations and the Diesel Technology Forum. ATA took issue with the budget's infrastructure funding, while the Forum took aim at a cut in funding for emissions-reduction programs.
