Electric Trucks Struggling to Gain Acceptance in Calif.

California roads have less than 500 battery electric medium- to heavy-duty trucks, partly due to the higher expense of these vehicles, according to a report on electrification of these vehicles released by the California Air Resources Board (ARB).

UPS Deploys Electric Step Vans in Texas

UPS has begun using 18 battery-electric delivery trucks in the Houston-Galveston area of Texas and projects a savings of 1.1 million gallons of diesel fuel over 20 years with the move, the parcel company has announced.

PG&E to Invest $100M in EVs, PHEVs

Pacific Gas & Electric will invest $100 million to purchase battery-electric vehicles and gasoline-electric hybrids over the next five years to reduce fuel costs and lower emissions, the nation's largest utility announced Oct. 15.

Workhorse Group says it has obtained permission from the Federal Aviation Administration to test its Horsefly delivery drone, an eight-motor, eight-rotor “octocopter” designed to work with a specially equipped E-Gen electric walk-in van.

Bakery Fleet Orders AMP Electric Vans

A national bakery company has placed the first orders for the AMP/Workhorse E-100.

AMP Holding Inc. has announced that its AMP Trucks subsidiary has received an initial purchase order for Workhorse E-100 Walk-In Vans from a national bakery company. The Workhorse Electric Vans have a range of up to 100 miles and will be built on the W62 chassis.
