House Bill Would Advance Clean Vehicle Technologies

A bill that would earmark funds for research and development of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies as well as create truck-specific programs within the Department of Energy has been introduced in the House.

Alkane will use Foton cab-chassis from China with North American components, including a propane-fueled engine. Assembly in South Carolina is set for early 2016.

Two companies report they're on the brink of commercializing low-pressure dispensing and storage of compressed natural gas through carbon adsorption, which they say will keep the fuel cheaper and make filling stations a reality even for small fleets.
