Average Fuel and Oil Costs Forecast to be Lower in 2014

Expect the cost of on-highway diesel to average $3.81 per gallon this year, 11 cents less than 2013’s average price. The new monthly U.S. Energy Department Short-Term Energy Outlook is calling for the price to be even less in 2015, averaging $3.72 per gallon.

The average cost of diesel in the United States started off 2014 slightly higher than where it ended last year, according to a weekly U.S. Energy Department report and is also at its highest level since late September.

70 MPH Speed Limit Taking Effect in Illinois

Bakery Fleet Orders AMP Electric Vans

A national bakery company has placed the first orders for the AMP/Workhorse E-100.

AMP Holding Inc. has announced that its AMP Trucks subsidiary has received an initial purchase order for Workhorse E-100 Walk-In Vans from a national bakery company. The Workhorse Electric Vans have a range of up to 100 miles and will be built on the W62 chassis.

Lower Fuel Prices Forecast for 2014

Look for fuel prices to be lower next year, according to a new report from the U.S. Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration. It forecasts diesel fuel prices, which averaged $3.97 per gallon in 2012, are projected to average $3.92 per gallon this year and $3.77 per gallon in 2014

Trucking Industry Warns D.C. Diesel Registration Proposal Will Hurt City

A proposed ban on diesel-powered vehicles in the District of Columbia has drawn a strong response from a coalition of trucking industry groups. The coalition warned the D.C. Council that provisions in the recently introduced Sustainable D.C. Omnibus Act of 2013 would have “significantly harmful effects on the District’s economy and on the quality of life of District residents.”
