Bridgestone Developing SuperTire for Cummins/Peterbilt SuperTruck II Project

Rather than go with an off-the-shelf tire, the Cummins/Peterbilt SuperTruck II team is bringing Bridgestone on board to develop an ultra-low rolling resistance tire. The goal is a 30% reduction in rolling-resistance which equates to a 6% improvement in fuel economy.

Ford Looking to Electrify F-150, Transit Custom Van by 2020

Ford announced seven global electrified vehicles that it plans to introduce in the next five years, which includes hybrid versions of the F-150 pickup and a plug-in hybrid Transit Custom van.

If enthusiasm ensures success, Nikola One, the fuel cell-electric long-haul tractor unveiled Thursday night in Salt Lake City, is a sure thing. It promises low maintenance and high fuel economy, but production is still a ways away.
