Pedigree Technologies, Fargo, N.D., has developed a mobile fluid monitoring system in partnership with Pro-Fab Industries, Arborg, Manitoba, and Titan Logix Corp., Edmonton, Alberta.

Pedigree says when its OneView Platform is used alongside Titan’s TD80 liquid-level gauging system, carriers can remotely monitor levels of crude, produced water, acid, jet fuel and other liquid chemicals hauled in tanker trailers.

The TD80 systems sends fuel level readings to the OneView platform, which then combines that data with the tank’s real-time GPS location, to ensure that proper handling of the loads.

Pedigree says the system can provide real-time visibility for customers, allowing them to manage their bulk fluids in transit, measure inventories flowing in and out and monitoring handling and security concerns. Tank-level readings are taken any time the trailer comes to a stop. The system can also be programmed to send email and text message alerts if fluid levels change from one stop to the next.

The integration helps promote safety by eliminating the need for the driver to climb on top of the tank to measure fluid levels. Instead, a digital display at eye-level registers tank levels.

Pro-Fab vice president and general manager Grant Cairns notes that his company has been using Titan Logix equipment for years on their Dura-Haul trailers and will now offer the complete system in their products and provide in-field installations.
