Used Class 8 truck sales volumes in February were higher overall than in 2016 and they improved for a second consecutive month, according to an ACT Research Report.

All three used truck market segments posted gains in the month, covering sales from auction, retail, and wholsesale. The numbers were released as part of ACT Research’s latest report, State of the Industry: U.S. Classes 3-8 Used Trucks.

“Total volumes were also higher year-over-year compared to February 2016, and year-to-date relative to the same time period last year,” said Steve Tam, ACT vice president.

The average price of used Class 8 trucks fell from January to February and are also down year-over-year and year-to-date compared to the same period last year.

“We expect pricing to remain at or near current levels throughout 2017,” said Tam.
