Roadrunner Forms Temperature-Controlled Carrier

Roadrunner Transportation announced the formation of Roadrunner Temperature Controlled, combining two transportation providers, M. Bruenger and R&M Transportation into a single company offering temperature-controlled solutions.

By combining its temperature-controlled subsidiaries, Roadrunner Transportation System is creating a flexible, integrated refrigerated trucking network.

Roadrunner Temperature Controlled will expand the company’s coverage in the U.S. and build on a group of around 400 drivers. The nationwide temperature-controlled network includes approximately 100 company drivers and over 300 owner-operators.

"This advancement has been in the works for quite some time," said Curt Stoelting, president and chief operating officer of Roadrunner Transportation Systems. "We are creating a temperature-controlled network that will control more than 400 tractors and manage more than 650 temperature-controlled trailers."

Roadrunner Temperature Controlled offers solutions for frozen foods, meat, seafood, produce, beverages, ice cream, pharmaceutical goods and many other products requiring temperature-controlled transit. It offers services like hazmat and SmartWay certifications, multiple terminal locations, real-time load tracking, EDI and Food Safety Modernization Act compliance and dedicated customer service.

Roadrunner Temperature Controlled will use McLeod’s transportation management system, Orbcomm’s real-time load tracking, and electronic logging devices.

    I only been here a short time so people listen to a guy that knows about being a truck driver a owner of a trucking company lanexperss yes that was me but unfortunately I lost my company due to mishandling of funds you never can trust anybody help you run a company so here I am back again owner operator starting from scratch what I can tell you is this Roadrunner temperature control flatbed division tribe and Division has tooken truck driving to a whole nother level if you are her truck owner I suggest you come to Roadrunner if you are a driver trying to find a home in the Trucking in the field I suggest you come to Roadrunner you're not going to find no where else better what other company can you go 1260 miles gross 5000 of course after maintenance if fuel and all the other things that you might have tooken out of your checking for your retirement pension and things like that let's say what it take a normal guy a whole week to take home just $1,000 I took home over 2,000 in three days thank you Roadrunner for giving me a chance to make a honest living to feel wanted to understand the needs of a normal truck driving job and to take the time out to listen to your drivers thank you

    I have since brought five other drivers and will continue to bring our good drivers for Roadrunner I feel a lot better about my life and being a truck driver thank you Roadrunner

    To Anthony Hurt. Based on your grammar, I'm going to safely assume you never owned a truck company.
    First off, Roadrunner Temperature Controlled LLC does not have a flatbed division. Secondly it is impossible for any driver to make $5000 on 1260 miles in the "Temperature Controlled" division as the pay rate starts off at $1.00 per mile empty or loaded, and Roadrunner pays for the reefer fuel. There is a fuel surcharge added to each load.
    My advice to drivers who are leasing a truck either through Roadrunner or Quality. Be sure to get a used one that has been maintained. You will struggle having a new lease truck, as the majority of your weekly settlements will be eaten up by the truck lease and insurances. You would be better off as a company driver at Roadrunner Temperature Controlled division, saving you $1200 a week truck costs (based on a new truck lease, not used).
    I've been in the business over 28 years now and assure you in today's trucking industry, it is tough to survive with a high truck payment, unless you are fortunate to get hooked up to a truck company that is paying you at least $1.75 a mile.
