Canadian supply chain solutions company VersaCold Logistics Services has agreed to acquire Coastal Pacific Xpress, a large refrigerated carrier based in British Columbia.

CPX specializes in shipping perishable and ambient products in both Canada and the U.S. and will continue to operate as its own entity under the acquisition agreement. The fleet will be a part of VersaCold’s newly announced VersaCold North American Transportation Solutions Limited subsidiary.

CPX will enhance VersaCold’s growth in the cross-border transportation market segment, including truckload and less-than-truckload capabilities, according to VersaCold.

"This exciting acquisition is a major step towards reaching our goal of being Canada's premiere, fully integrated, total supply chain solutions provider,” said Douglas Harrison, president and CEO of VersaCold.

VersaCold is a supply chain solutions company focused on handling temperature sensitive products. The company offers a suite of integrated logistics services through its national network of facilities, fleets and technologies.
