American Trucking Associations is seeking nominations for the third class of its LEAD ATA leadership development program. The program is designed to nurture the next generation of trucking industry and ATA leaders.

Each year a new class is accepted into the LEAD ATA program. LEAD stands for leadership, engagement, advocacy and development.

“Executives like me aren’t getting any younger,” said Dave Manning, ATA vice chairman. “It is incumbent upon us to do what we can to help nurture future leaders who frankly, will replace us as the faces of this great industry.”

The program was launched in 2013 to provide educational opportunities highlighting how the regulatory and legislative process affects the trucking industry as well as the ATA’s role in both. It also shows the tools available to industry executives through the ATA.

“LEAD ATA has brought dozens of future trucking industry leaders to Washington and other important industry events to learn about what ATA does and how it advocates on behalf of trucking," explained Bill Graves, ATA president and CEO. “The program is cultivating the next generation of leaders, not just for our association but our industry. “
