Volvo Trucks is seeking entries for the 2015 Volvo Trucks Safety Award which recognizes two fleets with the safest driving records and top safety programs. The winners will receive an award and $25,000 to go toward safety activities.

The award is open to all U.S. and Canadian fleets operating at least five Class 8 units. A fleet must also have at least one operating Volvo tractor to be eligible. Entrants are ranked by accident frequency rates and accident prevention activities. This is the seventh year Volvo is giving out the award.

Two fleets are given the grand prize in each of the two divisions. The divisions are based on annual vehicle miles traveled: more than 20 million miles and less than 20 million miles. Michelin Americas Truck Tires will be sponsoring the award, having supported it since 2010.

The deadline for entry is June 30, 2015. The winders will be announced during the American Trucking Associations’ Management conference & Exhibition in Philadelphia this October.

“Nothing is more important in managing a fleet than maintaining a stellar safety record,” said Goran Nyberg, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “We are proud to honor the trucking industry’s best performers again this year.”
