Swift Deploys Telematics System on New Dry Van Trailers
Swift Transportation announced that it would partner with Spireon to bring GPS-based trailer tracking and management to dry van trailers added in 2015.

Swift Transportation announced that it would partner with Spireon to bring GPS-based trailer tracking and management to dry van trailers added in 2015. Swift made this decision after a successful one-year pilot program with the Spireon system.
Swift will be using Spireon’s FleetLocate Asset and Trailer Intelligence solution on its trailers. Spireon is a mobile resource management company that provides telematics services to connect companies to mobile assets and workforces.
FleetLocate is a scalable GPS trailer tracking system that provides real-time visibility and insight into a trailer fleet. It provides accurate trailer mileage reporting, TMS integration and real time location data for a trailer fleet. The data can be used to improve utilization and turns per trailer, improve maintenance and enhance operational efficiency.
“We felt Spireon understood not only our business needs but our corporate culture and found innovative ways to help us succeed,” said Richard Stocking, president and COO of Swift.
