Paragon Software Systems acquired a majority shareholding in Axida, a company that has been a business partner of Paragon in the home delivery service industry. The acquisition will include continued development of home delivery products.

“Overall this represents a very exciting opportunity for both Axida and Paragon,” said William Salter, CEO and president of Paragon. “It will enable us to really build our presence in the fast growing home delivery sector.”

Axida will now be known as a Paragon group company but the two companies will continue to operate as individual businesses.

Glyn Royles, sales director and chief operating officer and Graham Cooper, financial controller at Paragon will join the Axida board but the existing management team and staff will remain intact.

Axida and Paragon had previously collaborated on Paragon HDS which is a management, scheduling and route optimization system for home delivery. Paragon is also integrated with Axida’s full HDi product.

“We have worked in partnership with Paragon for many years and the combining of our expertise and resources makes perfect sense,” said Wayne Holgate of Axida. “It will help consolidate our lead in the home delivery market.”
