J.J. Keller updated its Encompass E-Log System to reflect the recent suspension of certain provisions of the 34-hour restart, the company announced. The restart suspension is in effect until at least Sept. 30, 2015 but could continue beyond that date if the FMCSA does not provide a study justifying the restrictions by that date.

J.J. Keller updated the Encompass software to ensure drivers using the software for E-Logs remained in compliance.

Drivers using the E-Log app on iOS or Android smart devices will be alerted that an update is available. This is also true for users of the J.J. Keller Compliance tablet.

The company had built in flexibility to the Encompass software to deal with situations like the restart suspension, according to J.J. Keller.

“Regardless of what happens in Congress, we’ll make sure Encompass customers are using a system that’s in compliance with the most current regulations,” says Randy Thome, vice president of technology services at J.J. Keller.
