Former Roadway CEO Michael W. Wickham passed away last Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at his home in Palm Coast, Fla. Wickham was 67 years old.

Wickham served as CEO of Roadway Corp. from 1996 to 2003 and was the chairman of the company from 1998 to 2003. He was Roadway’s president from 1990 until 1998. He was with Roadway Express for 35 years.

Wickham also founded and chaired the American Transportation Research Institute and was chairman of the board of the Board of Motor Freight Carriers Association. In addition to his work in transportation, Wickham was also on the Board of Directors of Akron’s Children’s Hospital and served on its Foundation Board.

Wickham was born on Sept. 9, 1946 in Elmira, N.Y. He attended the University of Delaware where he played football. Wickham had a love of horseracing and founded the breeding farm, Pauleeanna Thoroughbreds, Inc. in Micanopy, Fla.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, mother Ernestine, brother Robert and his three children Devon, Michael, and Lindsay.

Memorial services will be held at the Santa Maria Del Mar in Flagler Beach, Fla., on Feb. 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
