Schneider increased compensation for van truckload drivers, the company announced. The new pay rates are 8% - 13% higher per mile and drivers have the opportunity to earn bonus pay.

“Our business is growing, creating tremendous opportunities for both solo and team drivers,” said Dave Geyer, SVP of the truckload division at Schneider. “Strong customer demand is providing record miles for drivers to maximize their available hours.”

The pay raise for the van truckload division comes on the heels of recent increases to Schneider’s tanker drivers and account-by-account increases for most dedicated account drivers. Drivers in select divisions and areas may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 and tuition reimbursement of up to $6,000.

While company drivers are receiving mileage rate increases, owner-operators revenue are also growing as freight rates increase. Solo and team owner-operators in Schneider’s Percent of Revenue Lease contract select their own loads and are compensated 65% of load revenue plus 100% of fuel surcharge and billed accessorials.

Schneider has had 4,808 drivers with a million or more consecutive miles without an accident in their career including 1,570 currently with the fleet.
