Knight Buys Dry Van Carrier Barr-Nunn

Truckload carrier Knight Transportation has acquired all of the outstanding stock of Barr-Nunn Transportation and certain affiliates effectively buying the company. The current management team at will remain in place and continue to operate the business under the Barr-Nunn name.
“Our goal as the new owner is to afford Barr-Nunn access to our capital, purchasing power and knowledge base as they continue operating the business under the Barr-Nunn name and culture,” said Kevin Knight, CEO of Knight.
Driving associates, non-driving associates and customers should notice little change, says Knight. The senior management team agreed to remain in their leadership positions as part of the buyout.
Barr-Nunn is a 550 truck dry-van truckload carrier based in Des Moines, Iowa. The company generated $119.8 million in total revenue since last August and $26 million in earnings before taxes and interest. Bar-Nunn’s customers include major manufacturers, consumer product companies, retailers, and transportation and logistics providers.
