Celadon Trucking Services has ordered tractors for its new flatbed fleet which it acquired earlier this summer.

Celadon purchased Kenworth W900, Peterbilt 579 and International LoneStar tractors. The company is also buying 100 new 53-foot aluminum flatbed trailers as well as deluxe, enclosed head racks.

“This trio of quality tractor options, both new and used, coupled with an attractive leasing program and great pay packages, offer an outstanding opportunity for those considering a career as a lease purchase driver,” said Nate Roberts, vice president of specialized services at Celadon.

Celadon’s flatbed fleet, which is from an acquisition of Evans Trucking in the summer, returns the company to the flatbed business after a 13-year absence.

The Evans terminal in Butler, Ind., has been added to the Celadon network, and the four Evans warehouses in Angola, Butler, Garrett and Terre Haute, Ind., are now part of Celadon Logistics operations.

The company says the acquisition has strengthened its local and dedicated presence and capabilities in the Midwest.
