ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- As part of its 2014 User Conference, PeopleNet spent Tuesday evening recognizing the top innovators among its client base, fleets that have demonstrated exceptional leadership over the past year by using PeopleNet products and services to create unique solutions that accelerate and drive return on investment.

“Eleven years ago we held our first user conference, and we know without a shadow of a doubt that our first customers, and those of you with us today, are the sole reason that PeopleNet is still here after 20 years,” said Senior Vice President of Tailored Solutions Randy Boyles. “It is our customers who press us for new and better technology.”

This year’s recipients were selected by the PeopleNet Advisory Council, a group of customers that meet regularly to provide PeopleNet feedback and guidance on its product development strategy.

Awards were presented to the following companies in four categories:

Tier 1 (under 100 trucks): Admiration Foods

Brundidge, Ala.-based Admiration Foods, a Supreme Oil Company, went through a radical transformation in late 2013 when it selected PeopleNet to provide services for automatic vehicle location, automated fuel tax (Vusion), eDriver Logs, in-cab training, onboard event recording, speed monitoring, and messaging. The company was able to reduce its compliance, safety, accountability scores to zero, or well below all thresholds.

Tier 2 (100-500 trucks): Nussbaum Transportation Services

As a customer for 10 years, Nussbaum Transportation Services of Hudson, Ill., created Driver Excelerator, a successful performance measurement and bonus program utilizing performance data, engine data and vehicle location data provided by PeopleNet which is integrated into a custom-built, comprehensive driver scorecard program.

Tier 3 (500-plus trucks): Old Dominion Freight Line

Old Dominion Freight Line, a less-than-truckload company providing premium service to all its customers, offers regional, inter-regional and national LTL service. In addition to its core LTL services, the company offers its customers a broad range of logistics services including ground and air expedited transportation, supply chain consulting, transportation management, truckload brokerage, container delivery and warehousing.

Tier 4 (Canada): Seaboard Transport

Seaboard Transport in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, recently implemented PeopleNet solutions to improve numerous areas of its business, and has noted significant ROI savings after introducing eDriver Logs, speed monitoring, vehicle and driver management, fuel tax reporting, and onboard event recording. In addition, PeopleNet technology has resulted in improved dispatch/driver communication, GPS tracking, automated workflow, improved billing and pay processing times for the company.
