This year’s Green Fleet Conference will include a series of sessions aimed specifically at trucking fleets called the Heavy Duty Green Symposium.
The Green Fleet Conference will be in Schaumburg, Ill., from Oct. 29-30.
The Heavy Duty Green Symposium will feature trucking-specific speakers. The sessions will emphasize that “green” goes beyond alternative fuels and also focuses on greener powertrains, higher fuel efficiency and better aerodynamics.
Four sessions make up the HD Green Symposium:
Natural Gas: Things We Should Have Known Before
121 Ways To Save Money On Fuel
Looking Ahead: Emerging & Future Alternative Fuels & Powertrains
What You Can Learn From the EPA’s Super Truck Program
Also, with fleet industry people in attendance there will be plenty of networking opportunities to meet with peers and influential people and to learn what other fleets are doing to be green. Representatives from HDT's Top 50 Green Fleets who are in attendance will get special recognition.
“Any fleet people who are interested in learning more about sustainability and green fleets in any way are encouraged to come,” said HDT Editor-in-Chief Deborah Lockridge. “It will be a great learning experience for any fleet – private or for-hire, vocational or over-the-road, large or small.”
Beyond the symposium, the Green Fleet Conference will offer hours of keynote addresses, workshops and other breakout sessions that will appeal to a broad audience of truck and automotive fleets. An exhibition area will feature the latest "green" equipment, products and services. In addition, at the Ride and Drive event, attendees will get a chance to test drive some of the latest alternative-fuel vehicles.
