Third-party logistics provider, Celadon Logistics, will provide transportation management services to North American operations of the Commercial Vehicle Group, a supplier of cab related products and systems for the commercial vehicle market, including the heavy-duty trucks.

As the lead logistics provider, Celadon will oversee the majority of CVG’s North American transportation network including freight sourcing, execution, optimization, and freight audit and payment, according to the Indiana-based trucking operation.

Celadon Logistics began working with CVG in early 2011 by providing less-than-truckload consolidation services to the newly-open CVG plant in Saltillo, Mexico, according to the company. Celadon said it was able to reduce LTL shipping costs, streamline the border crossing process and provide truckload capacity support from their suppliers located throughout the United States to the plant in Mexico.

“We’ve been able to drive cost savings and process efficiencies through mode changes and a carrier bid process” said Jon Russell, president of Celadon Logistics.

Celadon Logistics parent, Celadon Group, also provides long-haul, regional, local, dedicated, intermodal, temperature-protect and expedited freight service across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
