Iowa-based parent to several trucking companies, CRST International, has announced has changed the name of Specialized Transportation, which it acquired in 2011, to CRST Specialized Transportation.

As CRST Specialized Transportation, the business will continue the focus in supporting customers in the technology, healthcare, industrial, furniture, store fixtures, retail, and financial services markets, according to a release. Its acquisition gave CRST access to a network of agents and 52 distribution centers in key metropolitan areas in North America, as well as entry into the specialized handling and transportation business.

“We wanted to formally integrate STI into the CRST family of companies to solidify the synergy between it and our other operating companies, which include expedited van, flatbed, dedicated fleet, temperature controlled and logistics services,” said CRST president and CEO Dave Rusch.
