The Ohio Trucking Association has teamed up the Trincon Group, a national transportation industry advisory and technology firm, to create Ohio Trucking University.

Trincon describes this as a comprehensive series of business education offerings for industry leaders and trucking company executives.

“We all know the industry is changing, the uncertain business climate, increasing regulation, ever increasing costs that continue to rise faster than rates, demands for additional services and transparency from shippers and consignees, new technologies and environmental concerns; driver shortages and capacity issues all make it difficult for our members, and the entire industry,” says Larry Davis, president of the Ohio Trucking Association.

Starting in July, the Ohio Trucking University will offer a comprehensive series of education programs covering a broad range of topics on such issues as:

  • Business planning
  • Opportunities for increased productivity and profitability
  • Driver hiring and retention
  • Workman’s compensation
  • The impact of regulatory changes

“In today’s changing and every more complex business climate, it is critical that firms arm themselves with the information they need to operate effectively and profitably,” said Trincon President Duff Swain “Over the past 30 years, we have witnessed the changes that have occurred in the industry, and how those changes have impacted the ability of firms to compete.”.
