The Intermodal Association of North America and The National Industrial Transportation League decided to discontinue the co-location of NITL's TransComp Exhibition and IANA's Intermodal Expo.

The events will re-launch as separate tradeshows at different venues beginning in 2014. The two shows will remain co-located in 2013 and will be held on Nov. 11-13 in Houston, Texas.

The decision to re-launch them individually in 2014 was made due to the increasing complexity of managing two simultaneous events. IANA and NITL mutually determined that this change in the business model is in the best interests of both associations and their respective members.

"We are making this announcement now out of respect for our loyal exhibitors, many of whom plan to exhibit years in advance," explained NITL president and CEO Bruce Carlton. "They deserve as much lead time as possible to make some important decisions related to 2014 and beyond."

The 2014 IANA Intermodal Expo will be held Sept. 21-23 in Long Beach, Calif., and the 2014 NITL TransComp Exhibition will take place Nov. 14-19 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
