The 50th Anniversary Mid-West Truck and Trailer Show will stress the importance of safety in the industry.

The show, which will take place Feb. 3-4 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill., will begin with FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro addressing hot topics such as new federal hours-of-service regulations and the ban on the use of hand-held cell phones at the show's opening session.

Also, the Midwest Truckers Association with the Illinois State Police will unveil a new "Watch the Road" effort to communicate the dangers of distracted driving. New decals for the backs of trucks and trailers will stress importance of keeping eyes on the road instead of the cell phone.

The Mid-West Truck and Trailer Show includes educational sessions, expanded displays, programs and space for nearly 200 exhibitors for truck operators. During the show, attendees can see displays including the newest tractors, trailers, engines, parts, accessories, communication and computer equipment, tires, lubricants and services. Also, the "Trucker's Pride" Truck Beauty Contest will return for its fifth year and will include 20 finalists in work, show and antique trucks.
