Schneider National of Green Bay, Wis., is expanding into the local and regional bulk hauling arenas.
Schneider recently introduced shorter length of haul capabilities to shippers in four U.S. markets, with expansion into additional markets planned for later this year.

Schneider Bulk's local and regional service operates out of Schneider National operating centers/terminals in the South, Midwest and Eastern United States. In 2007, Schneider first began offering the service to the Houston, New Orleans and Chicago markets. In April, Schneider opened a new terminal in Pittsburgh and simultaneously launched the service in that market.

According to Schneider, response to the regional offering is faring well, prompting additional expansion. With a new terminal scheduled to open this summer in Keasbey, N.J., shippers in that market can expect bulk local and regional service for their area before the end of 2008. Other markets throughout the United States will continue to be added over the next few years, leveraging existing Schneider locations.

Schneider National now offers three bulk solutions for shippers: long haul, local/regional and fuel hauling.
